NASHVILLE, Tenn. April 16, 2021 – Vibronyx, a supply chain technology and analytics services company, has been awarded a Phase I contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to assess the current state of its Contract Quality Control capabilities across $35B of annual spend, and develop a Transformation Playbook to help guide the people, processes and technology improvements needed to modernize a critical element of the armed services’ supply chain.
DLA has recognized the need for a single, data-driven system that comprehensively and holistically manages contract quality, incorporating modern technologies and drawing upon the best of commercial practices to ensure that DLA contract quality is of the highest possible standard.
“As a veteran-owned company, we’re especially honored to help assess and map options for a state-of-the-art system for DLA contracts,” said Vibronyx CEO Clayton Nicholas. “Our focus in this first phase of our work is on helping DLA improve Warfighter readiness, reduce the workload at DLA by reducing the rate of contract errors, increase the percentage of contracts executable upon award, and drive increased supplier participation as well as increased competition for DLA contracts.”
Sponsored by the DLA Acquisition Directorate, the research and development of this Phase I project will:
- Validate and document current contract quality control deficiencies and improvement opportunities, to include developing contract quality control standards.
- Research and analyze current industry best practices, trends, metrics, standards, and professional certification programs in contract quality and supplier relationship management and apply these learnings to the DLA context.
- Envision a desired future state Contract Quality Control System to include a modern technology system, quality control organization, and process changes.
- Deliver a roadmap to support designing, developing, and implementing the Contract Quality Control System across DLA and relevant stakeholders.
DLA can use the results of this project to define a Phase II project to develop solution scenarios, perform rapid prototyping, and define a transition and sustainment plan. The resulting Contract Quality Control System and organization would be implemented across relevant DLA Acquisition and Supply Chain organizations.
